The mash itself is made using barley, maize and pure Irish water, further adding to the unique character of the whiskey.Jameson Original Irish Whiskey is a blend of pot still and fine grain whiskeys that have been aged for a minimum of 4 years. The whiskey is aged in a combination of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks to add spicy and sweet notes.Jameson Original Irish Whiskey is slightly floral on the nose with hints of spicy sweetness, which leads to a palate of spicy caramel notes combined with subtle notes of vanilla and almonds. The finish is smooth with notes of sherry and sweet fruit.

Matured for 18 years in hand-selected oak casks from Europe and America, this rare whiskey is finished in first-fill bourbon barrels. This rite of passage introduces subtle traces of vanilla to an exceptionally balanced, mellow whiskey with a lingering finale of wood, spice and toffee. An elder statesman of our portfolio, each bottle of this unique whiskey is individually numbered.

Jameson Black Barrel Irish Whiskey is a tribute to our coopers, who painstakingly give their barrels an additional charring to reveal their untold richness and complexity. Charring is an age-old method for invigorating barrels to intensify the taste. Time spent maturing in these double-charred barrels lends our whiskey a unique richness, with more intensified notes of vanilla sweetness and caramel, alongside toasted wood, fruit, and warm spice.
