Hue lights can flash at you to let you know when your food is ready to come out of the oven, or to let you know when your favourite TV show is starting. You can set your lights to come on when you're away, to deter thieves, or control them remotely via the portal, from anywhere in the world. Geofencing technology can be used to turn your Hue lights on as you enter the door. Hue can even be linked to data feeds via the IFTTT (If This Then That) service, to give you a visual alert when you get an important email or when the weather changes.

Ambilight+hue (iOS and Android) can expand your TV viewing experience by extending your Ambilight TV colours to your Hue light bulbs, creating a more immersive experience. Ambify for iOS and hue Disco for Android make Hue react to music, providing you with an instant dance floor.
Please note: Hue bulbs require a separate Hue Bridge to connect to your home network. Hue Bridge can be purchased as part of a Hue Starter Kit.
